- Leave your ego outside and be humble and respectful to others.
- Be on time for class (arrive 10-15 minutes before class begins).
- Put cell phones on vibrate (unless you are a first responder).
- If you are late approach the instructor prior to joining class.
- Bow to the center of the mat when entering or exiting.
- Remove footwear before stepping on the mats.
- Wear footwear off of the mats.
- Keep quiet while instructor demonstrates techniques.
- No foul language will be tolerated.
- No offensive odors such as unsanitary BO, tobacco, ammonia, etc.
- Students must wear the appropriate uniform for class.
- Wear a Gi that is clean with no rips, tears, holes, or stains. No mismatching of the kimonos. Camouflage and dark green (OD green) are reserved for active or prior service veterans.
- Women are required to wear at least a sports bra under Gi top (rash-guards are recommended) along with athletic undergarment under Gi bottoms.
- Men with excessive body hair are required to wear a rash-guard.
- Rash-guards are mandatory for NO GI class.
- Proper hygiene is required when going from one class to another.
- Keep uniforms and gear clean (wash Gi and belt after every class).
- Proper personal hygiene is required (this includes guests that are in the spectator area).
- Keep finger and toe nails cut short at all times. Hands and feet must be clean.
- Long hair must be worn in a controlled way so that it does not interfere with either themselves or their opponent. Hair must be restricted above the shoulders.
- Remove all jewelry and piercings before class. No metal objects may be worn on the mats.
- Male white belts are NOT to pair up with female students unless directed by an instructor.
- Give higher ranked belts preferred space during sparring.
- Be aware of your surroundings and maintain a safe environment when training.
- Use proper tap out procedures. Remember it is only a training session.
- Open cuts must be covered at all times.
- Show courtesy before and after each sparring session.
- Mouth guards are encouraged during sparring.
- If you are sick, stay home.
- You are responsible for your child’s behavior if he/she is not participating in class.
- Don’t leave the mat without notifying the instructor.
- 30 burpees for every item left at the gym.
- 15 burpees whenever you pull guard with no sweep attempt.
- What you learn is taught for your development not only as a student, but also as a citizen and should be used as a last resort when everything else has failed.
- Respect those you train with and your instructors.
- Rank is a symbol of knowledge and wisdom. Respect the training facility.

If you wish to cancel this contract, you may do so at any time.  If you cancel before the end of your membership renewal period, the remaining time on your membership will not be refunded. This contract will automatically renew every month in perpetuity unless it is canceled as mentioned above. Kraken expressly reserves the right, from time to time, at its sole discretion to initiate change or amend class schedules. No representation shall obligate Kraken to offer classes at any special time even if class was on schedule at time contract was signed. Kraken also has the right to move locations of said gym without relieving members of membership agreements or signed contracts. The policies and regulations of the school are not inclusive and are subject to change from time to time at the sole discretion of Kraken. Kraken reserves the right to refuse or terminate any member for failure to comply with the terms and conditions or for behavior that is in Kraken's opinion prejudicial to welfare, good order, and character of Kraken. It is expressly understood that the loss of membership privileges shall be without refund of any fees already paid by the member. The failure of the member to use the facility or services of Kraken shall not relieve the member of obligation to make all payments required by the terms of the contract. If Kraken is substantially unavailable due to change by fire, accident, building issues, or an act of GOD, the members' time shall be extended for a period equal to the time that the school isn't in use. If Kraken ceases to operate in business Kraken will not refund any monies paid for future classes by member. If Kraken is sold, buyer will retain all contracted memberships. Kraken reserves the right to film and photograph all classes and students for use of promotion on social media, websites, and marketing materials and owns the rights to all photos and videos taken while participating in Kraken activities. If the undersigned fails to remit any scheduled payment by the agreement payment date it is agreed that a late charge of $25 shall be added to the amount due. There will also be a $25 returned check or Credit Card Fee. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that all credit cards stay active and do not expire. No students shall graduate to the next belt unless their account is in good standing. The student, on behalf of his or herself, or his or her family, heirs, executors, and administrators· hereby forever release, discharge and hold harmless, Kraken Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, all representatives and agents, and other affiliated gyms and personnel for any injury, loss, or damage to a person or property arising out of or from taking part in martial arts classes and activities and not withstanding that the same may have been contributed to or occasioned by negligence of Kraken, representatives, instructors, or agents. This is the entire agreement covering the purchase price of your membership. Kraken reserves the right to change the name of the academy without canceling your membership. Kraken can waive or delay any of its rights under this agreement without losing them. The undersigned does promise to pay Kraken the sums of money stated herein and does give Kraken permission to use photos or videos taken in the gym on the website or for other advertising. Kraken has permission to sell this agreement to an independent financial institution, or refer it to another company for collection should member become delinquent in payment.

IMPORTANT: For family plans, when additional family members are added to your plan a one (1) time manual payment for each additional member will be charged at the family discounted rate to the primary family member's default payment method.  Primary family members next monthly membership fee will automatically increase to reflect these additional family members.
